Audition Details

We’re excited to invite you to audition for Junkyard Theatre Company’s upcoming production of Hadestown: Teen Edition, to be performed at the Penistone Paramount from 26 - 28 March 2026. All auditionees must be aged 13-18.

Date: Sunday 4th January
Time: 9:30am - 1:00pm
Location: Junkyard Studios, 24a Maple Estate, Stocks Lane, Barnsley, S75 2BL

Finding Us:
As you reach the top of Stocks Lane, you’ll see two car parks - one straight ahead and one to the right. Please turn right into the car park with the large “PET FEEDS” sign. From there, head up the concrete stairs and through the double doors to access the studios.

What to Prepare

• Please prepare a musical theatre song of your choice in the style of Hadestown. Think pop/rock influenced musical theatre.

• We’ll be focusing strongly on acting through song, so choose something that allows strong storytelling.

• Bring a backing track on your phone or another device.

• Wear comfortable clothing suitable for a short movement/dance call.

Rehearsal Schedule

Rehearsals will be held at Junkyard Studios:

• Fridays: 6:30pm–9:30pm

• Scheduled Sundays: 10:00am–2:00pm
  (Not all cast members will be required every Sunday.)

Dress Rehearsal: Sunday 22 March, 10:00am - 4:00pm
Tech Rehearsal: Wednesday 25 March 

Production Fee

There is a £250 production fee, which covers all rehearsals and full costume provision for the show. If successful, payment plans can be made with prior arrangement.
